The artillery unit in the Cascade Civil War Society is a single unit that represents both sides. The 4th US Artillery, Battery B, is represented on the Union side, while the the 2nd Maryland Artillery is represented on the Confederate side. Depending on the situation, our reenactors will wear Union blue or Confederate gray. An artilleryman does not carry a long gun as his primary mission is the loading and firing of the cannon, but occasionally may carry a pistol for close defense. As with all of the weapons carried by our reenactors, our cannons are real pieces capable of live firing actual rounds. While we only load blanks, extreme care must be exercised while operating the cannon. Safety is our top priority at any event. For more information about this unit, please contact James Kingery, Stewart Haley, or Hugh Simpson.  Any of the three can answer your questions.
